Design Process
The Design Process
Initial Consultation
Consists of a site visit to determine your requirements.
Aim: to visit the site, meet the client and find out the basic requirements and budget constraints etc.
Design Proposal
Aim: depending upon the initial consultation, it may be necessary to engage a surveyor in order to precisely locate the house and garden.
An outline proposal will then be shown to demonstrate the initial design ideas; this could be in either a plan or a sketch form
Design Detail
Aim: to finalise the design that will show the spatial arrangements of the garden. This can consist of detail drawings showing the positioning of materials, size, shape and colour etc. lighting specialists and irrigation plans.
Planting plans can also be created during this process
Document Information
Aim: to produce a written specification to accompany the drawing. Planning applications and approvals etc.
This can include detailed drawings from structural engineers, soil scientist's reports, materials information and tender documentation for clients wishing to use external contractors.
